Single Release – Keep a Secret

Keep a Secret

Can you keep a secret?

Can you keep a secret?
In the flicker of the light,
you’re the one temptation
on the wrong side of the right.
Somewhere in the Hyacinth house
she picks apart a rose.
She passes me another drink
and she keeps the curtains closed.

She lights another cigarette
and sits me on the floor.
No petal here remains unpicked
as she softly locks the door.

And in the back room of my mind
she bends and shapes the neon light;
Changes my decline to read,
‘Something like I might.’
Can you keep a secret?
in the flicker of the light,
When the only thing surrounding you
are the legs she wrapped so tight.

And as you lose your breath
‘You’ll lose a whole lot more than that!’
Your conscience does protest.

As she leads me through the cellar door
the concrete starts to crack.
As we embrace the great unknown
there aint no turning back.
You know you cant go back.
